Welcome to The Byre
The Byre situated on the outskirts of Bootle village, is based in a former cow byre in the heart of rural west Cumbria. It has a mixture of contemporary leather sofas, minimal fuss, solid wooden furniture and gorgeous views of the western Lake District fells
The menu is developed with only the highest quality, local produce including soups, pate and daily seasonal specials, nothing is served from the freezer, it is freshly cooked to order
There is also an onsite craft shop and bakery.

- Take a look at the before/after photos displayed as you stare in disbelief and work out how this beautifully restored Barn once housed the cows!!
- Visit the on-site Craft shop and prepare to be spoiled for choice ..something for everyone. every age! From hand made Cumbrian Shepherds Crooks to hand made Cumbrian delicately perfumed soaps…
- Pop into the on-site Deli/Bakery and be tempted by the local produce cheeses to sausages and all in between!
- Watch out for the Jazz Days with live local artistes….Dont miss the working local craft displays…your chance to watch a Cumbrian Crafter on a working demonstration…purchase their wares

The Byre offers a comprehensive menu to suit all tastes from a quick cuppa to a hearty lunch….or perhaps a Cumbrian farmhouse tea?
Pull up a real wood chair to a restored wood table… slouch into a comfortable sofa, read a magazine while you peruse the menu!
From olde worlde ice cold ginger beer (lashings of it!) to a smoothie..the Byre can satisfy your every whim!!
Morecambe Bay Shrimps freshly caught, Rustic Toast, Cumberland Pork and Apple Loaf, complemented with our own local home made chutneys mmmm!!!
Apart from the regular menu we also have a changing daily “special” using virtually all Cumbrian Produce…if it isn’t on the menu ..just ask and we will be pleased to oblige.
