Welcome to the Lakeland Heavy Horse Centre
We look forward to meeting you personally to share with you our love of and respect for these magnificent animals.
A shared passion for heavy horses and a growing collection of some of the world's most beautiful and rare breeds gave birth to our idea of establishing an intriguing visitor centre to give others the chance to experience the magic of these horses, learn about their lives and witness some of the work they do.
The idea grew, and after much thought, planning, hard work and also thanks to the support of defra, we were delighted to open our doors to the public in July 2006. With our wide range of horses and ponies, we offer visitors an experience unique in the Northwest of England.
